Specialty Prop-Building Workshop
(4 Weeks, 8 Classes)

Overview:


This intensive workshop is designed for theater artists, makers, and creative people who want professional-level training in specialty prop construction. Over 4 weeks, you’ll gain hands-on experience designing, building, and finishing stage-ready props. Every project will go directly into use for live productions, giving you a true look at how props are made and used in real theater settings.

What you’ll learn:

  • Techniques for working with foam, wood, plastics, and specialty adhesives

  • How to create lightweight yet durable stage props

  • Painting, texturing, and finishing methods used by professionals

  • How to problem-solve and adapt designs to meet performance needs

Class Format:

  • Fridays: 5 PM – 8 PM (Design, planning, and prep)

  • Saturdays: 10 AM – 5 PM (Full build sessions)

  • Duration: 4 weeks, 8 sessions total

  • Class size: Maximum of 4 students for personalized instruction
